Communication Process:
The process has been communicated through Deacons, Life Groups, and Staff, who have all provided positive feedback. The goal is transparency. Please contact the church staff if you have any questions.
Electing a Committee:
Since our church bylaws require a Nominating Committee-presented and Church-elected committee, the next step is for the Nominating Committee to prayerfully consider candidates for the committee. The goal is for the committee to be a diverse group of faithful male and female church members who represent our church demographics, all three worship services, and servant leadership. It is anticipated that the Nominating Committee will present these committee candidates for a church vote in August 2026.
Committee Responsibility:
As we have communicated, the obvious first responsibility of the committee is to consider Jeff Ivey as the next Senior Pastor. However, the committee will have the authority to consider other candidates if they choose. In either scenario, the committee will work with our Senior Pastor to determine the timeline, since he has yet to set a retirement date. The committee will be named the “Pastor Transition/Search Committee” [PTSC]. The PTSC will present the candidate to the Personnel Committee for a final interview before presenting the candidate for a church vote.
